Grippers - 2-Jaw
High Moment PXS- Benefits

Information applies to all "PX-S" models which are also known as High-Moment Grippers. This product cannot be sold outside of the United States.

RAD's High-Moment PX-S Pneumatic Parallel Gripper Series is designed for extreme applications that require tremendous torque and force capability (e.g. those applications that impart high acceleration to heavy objects or require extremely long, precisely positioned jaws). The PX-S offers nearly double the grip force of RAD's PX-1250 while maintaining an identical mounting pattern.

RAD's High Moment PX-S Pneumatic Gripper offers:
  • Grip force per jaw of 2200 N (495 lbf) at 6.9 bar (100 psi)
  • Jaw torque up to 700 N-m (515 ft-lbs)
  • 2-jaw parallel motion
  • Extruded body for light weight and rigidity - weighs just 15 kg (33 lbs)
  • Long stroke length - up to 350 mm (13.78 in)
  • High torque linear bearing rail for additional rigidity
  • Patented double helix synchronization for accuracy to ± 0.025 mm (0.001 in)
  • An average 10 million+ cycle life
Operating Principle
Grip force is provided through two pneumatic pistons and the synchronization is provided through a double helix that centers the part to ±0.025 mm (±0.001 in). The torque and force capabilities are maintained over the life of the gripper due to the length of the bearing surface over which the loads are distributed.

NOTE: Pneumatic grippers are used on robots, robotic arms, linear actuators, pick & place machines, and other automated equipment.
