RAD's UltiBurr™ 630 Compliant Deburring Tool saves you money by increasing machine uptime, reducing scrap, and shortening robot* programming time:

• The compliant spindle enables the cutting bit to follow the part profile and compensate for surface irregularities without gouging the part, leaving unwanted burrs on the edge, or breaking the tip.
• The compliance feature of the UltiBurr™ Deburring Tool will accommodate for deviations between the robot path and tool edge so the programmers have to program fewer path points. This savings is multiplied in operations where several passes are necessary in order to achieve the desired result.

The UltiBurr™ 630 Compliant Deburring Tool:

• Provides compliance in x, y, & z axes to accommodate for part and path variation

• Allows pneumatic adjustment so the robot program can vary the pressure against the work piece (compliance force) as desired

• Uses clean air (no oil) to power its turbine motor so the air can be vented directly into the environment

Operating Principle
The UltiBurr™ 630 Compliant Deburring Tool utilizes a suspended spindle so that its tip is freely compliant in all directions. The spindle is re-centered by the compliance air. Increasing the compliance air pressure directly increases the compliance (resistive) force applied to the air motor and the component being deburred.

 Note
 In order to assure optimal spindle life, the compressed air used to power the UltiBurr™ Deburring Tool must be clean and dry. Air filtered through at least a 5+ micron filter and a coalescing filter (to ensure oil extraction near the motor) is recommended (standard filters will not take out all contaminants such as oil, mist, water, or fine particles).
